Activities Cardiff, Swansea, South Wales Conditions Report 24.03.2016

Gorge Walking, Gorge Scrambling, Canyoning, Ghyll Scrambling activities near Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales:       It has been dry through the region over the last few days and the rivers have been running low through the Brecon beacons waterfalls area. There is however heavy rain forecast for the next few days, this can make gorge walking and canyoning very unpredictable. With the land still quite wet and the heavy rains the rivers should pick up very quickly this could see rapid water level increase in the rivers so we need to be very cautious over the next few days, especially now its Easter and many people are coming to see the waterfalls in pontneddfechen and ysradfellte. Saturday should be the best day with rainfall on Thursday and then dry on Friday so hopefully canyoning and gorge walking should be accessible on Saturday.

Coasteering activities near Cardiff, Swansea in South Wales    Absolutely no chance of coasteering over the next few days. The wind is going to be blowing strong and the waves are going to be huge. All the coastline across South Wales will be affected so the best option would be to head off to West Wales for the event and try and use the sheltered bays. The forecast is looking similar throughout next week so keep watching the forecast and keep reading or reports.

Surfing, Surf Kayaking, Beach Activities and Paddle Boarding    The surf is looking pretty big over the next few days especially Sunday which should be huge. Protected beaches from the prevailing winds should be the best option such as Coney in Porthcawl and Langland in Swansea. These beaches will be more protected from the high South Westerly winds across the region. Whatever happens there will be swell and there will be surf but be carefull.
