Meanwhile, just down the road, Swansea is a great maritime city, popular with hens for its nightlife and easy-going, relaxed lifestyle. The Kingsway in Swansea is particularly well known for for its clubs while Wind Street is packed with trendy wine bars, eateries and clubs.
The stunning countryside of the Brecon Beacons, rivers and coastline are all within EASY REACH of the city centres. South Wales really does have it all for hen parties looking for adventure and fun outdoor activities for your hen weekend combined with great nights out.
Cardiff and Cardiff Bay
Cardiff certainly offers a huge choice of pubs and bars for everyone. Traditional pubs, funky bars and nightclubs give Cardiff a scene that is now world renowned and in particular very hen weekend friendly. St. Mary’s Street and Cardiff Bay area are perhaps the most popular areas with hen parties with vibrant night life – A great place to start your evening bash.
St. Mary’s street offers the newly developed Brewery Quarter with excellent variety of bars and restaurants. You’ll find hen party favorites like O’Neills, the Zync Bar, Yard bar, the brewery quarter and the infamous Prince of Wales pub. St Marys Street nightlife is often featured on TV, sometimes good, sometimes bad but always FUN.
In Cardiff Bay area, check out the Red Dragon Centre and Mermaid Quay with its bars, restaurants and clubs.
All the best clubs in Cardiff are located next to the pubs. On St Mary Street you’ll find Flares, Club Latino’s and Liquid. Around Charles Street you have Minsky’s Showbar, Club X and Exit all within easy walking distance. Cardiff has all the usual eateries as well: Nandos, Jamie Oliver, Yo Sushi and many more.
Swansea and the Mumbles
Swansea has a large and varied selection of pubs, bars and clubs, with something to suit all tastes. Wind Street has become the main area for socialising with many well-known chain-bars such as Walkabout, Yates and Varsity, clubs such as Revolution, Que Pasa and upmarket wine bars.
The clubs are mainly situated on the Kingsway; Time, Envy, Jumpin Jaks and Escape, that usually provide dance, pop and chart music every night of the week. Sin City hosts different music nights throughout the week including rock and dance nights.
The Monkey Bar situated near Castle Square is a smaller venue with a more alternative line-up including drum and bass, hip hop, salsa and reggae.

The Brecon Beacons National Park has its world renowned breath-taking scenery, based at the foot of the beautiful Brecon Brecon Mountains, it also offers fantastic bars and restaurants to complete a wonderful weekends adventure.
