Gorge scrambling, gorge walking and canyoning conditions are perfect for the next few days. The rivers are of a good level and flowing well due to the recent heavy rainfall. Te best areas will be in the waterfalls area of the Brecon Beacons National Park on the sychryd and Mellte rivers. Temperatures are dropping so thermal protection will be essential.

WIND – Winds are strong this week but haeding in from the East which means they will also be cold and offshore in most Southerlty areas. Every day will see winds up to 30mph across the region. https://magicseaweed.com/Southerndown-Surf-Report/4321/)

SEA STATE AND SWELL – There are strong Easterly winds so sea state will be calm accross the Southerly beaches but choppier further offshore. Winds could change so need to keep an eye on the direction. (https://magicseaweed.com/Southerndown-Surf-Report/4321/)

PREDICTED 72 HOUR REPORT
Again I would predict no coasteering accross the region as the swell is big at the moment. Winds are offshore which is good but swell conditions still make most sites volatile to entry and exit points on the beach and cliff faces. West Wales would be the better option.

Predicted Surf Conditions
This could be a epic surf week, swell is big through the week especially over the weekend and the winds are offshore, however the winds are strong and also Easterly therefore will be cold so its time for those hoods, gloves, boots and thick winter wetsuits.

Cardiff, Swansea & South Wales Group Outdoor Activities

Gorge walking, scrambling and Canyoning are all looking perfect this week but coasteering is looking a no go area. Surfing could be epic accross the region. Its a week to head into the waaterfalls or grab your board, just make sure you wrap up warm.
